Annette Engebretson RN BSN

I was born in Butte, Montana. My step father was a traveling engineer on the Milwaukee Rairoad, and I moved around to a different town every year until I got into the eighth grade. I graduated from high school in Deerlodge, Montana. I then moved to Spokane, WA to go to college. I met Brian in 1983 while I was in nursing school. I had my first daughter Brianna, and stopped school to allow Brian to finish his college. I started again and had my second child Ryan. I finished nursing school and got my first job in the PICU at Sacred Heart Medical Center. After working 5 years I took a travel position to Phx Children in Phx Arizone. After 6 months I returned to Sacred Heart to the picu. I found my interest in critical care to be very exciting but I needed more so I cross trained to many other areas as well, I have worked in NICU, general peds, peds sedation, then ventured into adults to do adult icu, emergency room and IV therapy. I even learned how to place PICC lines. I now have in the last few years done PACU, pre op and coordinated in the operating room. Nursing is my life all kinds, all areas. My kids have since graduated high school and I continue my career until retirement, which for me will still be many years to come!!
